Metamorphosis tells the story of a modern Black Dahlia, loosely spun around the metaphors of Ovid’s Metamorphoses and set between lush Swiss landscapes and monochromatic studio environments. The self-portraits depict a play between a desire to dissimulate one’s body against a variety of chameleonic backdrops, and echoes Ovid’s epic tales of figures punished into taking root in nature itself. The hybridized result stands as a prototype of a creature born out of the obstacles a human body encounters when trying to merge with nature.
